Knowledge sharing with Taiwan heritage colleagues

As members of AusHeritage, Mary Knaggs and Peter Romey have made four trips to work with our heritage colleagues in Taiwan and there have been several Taiwanese visits to Australia.

A focus of many of our visits is the significance assessment and conservation of the wonderful island of Kinmen located just off the southeastern coast of mainland China. The former cold war between Taiwan and China has meant that much of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage has been retained. In addition there is a fascinating layer of military heritage and a rich biodiversity.
